Once you've lost weight, how do you concentrate on not putting it back on?

I lost 40 kilos over a year and was doing quite well with maintaining my good nutrition, but more often now I see more 'treats' creeping back into my diet. I don't want to fall back into bad habits. How do I keep my focus?

It’s normal to fluctuate with behaviour and focus and this doesn’t make you weak or undisciplined, but rather, human. One of the keys to maintaining weight loss is to have an accountability system. That is, something (things) to keep your behaviours and habits on track even when the “feeling” of motivation is not at an all-time high. Monthly check-ins to assess things such as body-weight, body-fat percentage, girth measurements can be a valuable tool. As can:  (1) having a training partner (2) keeping a health journal (3) involving a professional - trainer, dietician, doctor, psychologist (for example) – in the process.
